What is your favorite part about being a designer?

My favorite part of being a designer is walking into someone’s home and knowing immediately the things we could do to make a big impact and improve the way they live. By listening to our client’s needs and cultivating a sense of style, we help to weave a seamless look throughout, while realizing new ways to live within the home. We start by assessing their goals, budget, organizational structure, and operational specifications.  Once we have crafted a concept that is right, we will implement and manage all phases of the project. From knocking down walls to installing furniture with white glove service.

Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?

I am inspired by fashion, traveling, and the arts. I approach each day as a learning opportunity and a way to enrich my life as a designer. My passion for interiors and interior products makes creating beautiful spaces for clients my true dream career.I am currently working on an Airbnb design. Genevieve Gorder’s show, Stay Here, has opened my eyes to new concepts. Maybe one day there could be an Airbnb division within Design Actually and I could travel the country to help homeowners rent out their properties for top dollar.Karin Bohn is also on my watch list. She inspires me to be driven in the early stages of my boutique design firm. I like how she captivates her audience to be in the studio and behind the scenes.

Can you tell us about your personal brand?

We pride ourselves on providing the highest standard of client services while alleviating the stress typically involved in such endeavors.  We truly value our clients’ opinions, but never shy away from offering new and exciting directions to meet their objectives.  From accurate measurements to precise installations, we bring the highest quality of service to every project.

What is your favorite color palette to work with?

Blues and Greens tend to show up in the majority of my pallets. I think it is important to pull in other colors as accents by sprinkling them around the room. First your eye may notice a bold yellow lamp on the side table, then it may bounce to the yellow of the glass vases on the fireplace mantel and finally to the yellow in the art pieces.

If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?

I would definitely tell myself that one day I would own my own interior design company and that I would be my own boss. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride because it is going to be a long one. I would probably make my young self faint!

What do you like most about DesignerInc?

I love that I am able to source the majority of my chandeliers and furniture in one place. It is such a headache trying to open lines especially when you only need 1 or 2 pieces and are unable to meet the minimums to open the account. Most of my projects are managed by DesignerInc so I don’t have to hunt down shipping details, I simply go to the chat box and they are able to tell me the status very quickly.
