Le Présent offers an exciting collection of indoor and outdoor home decor accessories. Their products are stunning additions to interior, exterior, home, office or commercial design statements. We spoke with Giuliano Biagioni, the company’s VP Sales and Marketing for an insight into their work.
Let’s start out by learning a bit more about your company. What makes your brand and products unique?
Our planters are designed in-house by Giuliano and Nicolas Biagioni.
Do you have a favorite piece in your collection or a new item or collection coming that designers might not know about?
My favorite piece is the new cage planter.
Who or what inspires you most when conceiving of your designs?
Everything involved in the design process and texture and color selection.
What is the process behind coming up with new designs and products?
I gather all the trends and items that I like while Nicolas makes a product out of these choices. We work through a funnel-type design process.
What is your favorite part about the manufacturing industry?
We are not directly involved in the manufacturing process but there is quite a lot of back and forth with the manufacturer to get exactly what we want. Receiving the final product always feels like Christmas day.
Please speak to the custom nature of your lines.
Our lines are very unique and we try to maintain our modern look as much as we con. Our colors are custom, our shapes are custom, and our textures are custom. We can service customers’ visions. The possibilities are almost limitless.
Please give us an overview of the more personal side of your business, who’s behind it, how did it come to be, any interesting stories about the origin or the founders you can share?
We are the third generation of Biagionis. My grandfather started the business with his two sons (my father and my uncle) back in 1976. Today, more than 40 years later, I manage the business with my cousin Nicolas and my uncle Sergio. We are proud of where we are because our family began with nothing when they immigrated to Canada from Italy. Today, we are recognized as a trendsetter in our industry.
Why designers?
Because designers became a niche market and in the last five years or so. Our business model really changed from that of small businesses like florists and that of big chain stores to focusing majorly on designers. We like the direction that the business has taken and hope we can continue in this trend.
