This week, we are pleased to bring you a designer spotlight from Liliane Hart of Liliane Hart Interiors. Liliane creates custom interiors that blend together traditional, personal, and contemporary styles. We hope you enjoy getting to know more about Liliane and all that she has to offer us!
What is your favorite part about being a designer?
I love the process of working together with clients to create custom interiors that reflect their tastes. Also, I absolutely adore fabrics, and playing with color, pattern, and scale.
Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?
My mother was my first tastemaker. She has the innate ability to create beauty at a mundane lunch or a fabulous dinner party. She is always true to her style. I learned to cultivate my own individual style through costumes, color and pattern at a young age. We also grew up running around antique stores in the northeast which probably developed my love of antique furniture.
Can you tell us about your personal brand?
We specialize in designing beautiful, comfortable interiors that embody our clients’ vision of home. With an emphasis on layering color, texture, and customer furnishings, we build upon the bones of well-made rooms to create interiors that are both classically gracious and uniquely fresh.
What is your favorite current resource?
The Design & Decoration building is one of my most cherished resources in NYC. I derive so much inspiration from fabric and wallpaper shopping in this building. It is one of my most favorite parts of design! In addition, I love Instagram! It is a great way to see what other designers are using in their interiors.
If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?
Be open to every opportunity, surround yourself with a strong team, ask questions, and take the time to learn all facets of the interior design business.
What do you like most about DesignerInc?
DesignerInc is a wonderful sourcing tool and helps us to work in a more time efficient way for our clients. Although we also love to see the product in person, there is enormous value to online sourcing.
