Let’s start out by learning a bit more about your company. What makes your brand and products unique?
It is our focus on the CONCEPT of “Cosmopolitan Living.” Two words that capture everything Dôme Deco stands for.
We create interior collections with a cosmopolitan identity. Across a breadth of product categories-from the rug on the floor to the mirror and art on the wall and everything in between.
Our strong desire to explore and gather inspiration from all over the world is translated into collections that are recognized by unique combinations of colors and textures. This results in a warm, inviting and sophisticated interior atmosphere. An interior look suited for those who enjoy an urban lifestyle with a touch of luxury. As a result there is quite simply no other brand that we can be compared to.
Do you have a favorite piece in your collection or a new item or collection coming that designers might not know about?
My favorite piece in the collection is the Geneva Metal Frame & Port Laurant Marble Rack from our Geneva Collection. It has been a Dôme Deco staple for a few seasons. This large scale piece fits in any space seamlessly-yet has a strong presence.
I LOVE the mix of different elements like metal and exotic Moroccan marble with strong veins. Recently we introduced this collection in many other natural materials like solid wood and travertine.
Who or what inspires you most when conceiving of your designs?
Everything. I love design and aesthetics in everything around me and it constantly inspires me. I love how the fashion and design industry is an ever-changing industry and I love to be part of it.
It is very fulfilling to be part of the whole process of being inspired, designing, finish & material selection & adding aesthetics and comfort elements to the final products
We have a very professional product development and design team that is constantly striving to offer the most on-trend complete concept which can fit in any space starting from home, office or a multi-story hotel.
On top of that, we are blessed to have very talented designers who are always following the latest design trends.
If I had to choose one. It is Travel. As a lover of all things beautiful, a “raging aesthete”, the world is filled with inspiration and we are constantly drinking from that cup. Whether it be in nature or in seeing the creative expression of businesses of all types. These moments of inspiration surround us and are our favorite creative fuel.
What is the process behind coming up with new designs and products?
We usually start based on a very broad perspective of what is going on in the world today as an inspiration for new concepts and products. From there, we distill this perspective into a contemporary vision on how we as Dome Deco, see these future trends. This vision forms the base for shapes and materials we would like to use. Next to this, we are always in close contact with our markets and customers, to evaluate the relevant wants and needs, so we can incorporate them into the product mix. This desired product-mix, combined with the right design-language and materials, forms the basis for the total interior concept we are so proud to present each season.
What is your favorite part about the manufacturing industry?
As a Creative, the opportunity to leverage the amazing resources that are available in our 22 source countries is a true gift that keeps giving. We are essentially only limited by our own imagination. The ability to bring a “flash of inspiration” to life as a tangible, beautiful object is a passion of mine.
