What is your favorite part about being a designer?

Creating a finished space that goes beyond a client’s dream and vision.

Who or what would you cite as your most important influence?

Travel. It provides first-hand experiences in different cultures and locations. I love the variety of architecture, design, materials and lighting I come across and experience when traveling. These speak to my soul and inspire my creative mind. These spaces and experiences are all part of my design library.

Can you tell us about your personal brand?

Luxury means different things to different clients. Our “authentic luxury” ensures that when we are designing for a client, we understand what their definition of luxury is, and we design to that standard. For some, luxury means beautifully integrated technology, where the lights, music, screens, window shades and HVAC are controlled from a smart device. For others, it’s being surrounded by sumptuous fabrics and decadent finishes. For yet others, it’s understated furnishings with a single “Wow” central element in the design.

What is your favorite color palette to work with?

All of them! But I do love baby pink, navy blue, white and gold.

If you could travel back, what advice would you give yourself as you start this career?

Rely on others for business expertise that I don’t have.

Please give us an overview of the more personal side of your business, how did it come to be, any interesting stories about the origin you can share?

I began my professional career furnishing offices. My love for design and procurement became evident immediately – right and left-brains combined!

Do you have anything you can share about how you and/or your firm have been affected by COVID-19, and any tips for other designers on how to navigate and cope?

We’re blessed to have cloud-based technology integrated into our firm. I would advise other designers to make sure that they have video calls at least on a daily basis with their team and to talk about daily life in balance with business.

What do you like most about DesignerInc?

The ease of selecting items and quick response to pricing.

What is one of your favorite projects and why?

We helped design a boutique bowling center that won a national award. We used 16 paint colors! The painters thought we were crazy.
